Freeze dried fruit

Feel the need to share the wonders of freeze dried fruit.

I may be coming late to the party but now that I have discovered the versatility of freeze dried fruit, I will be adding it to everything. On reflection maybe not in my onion bread!! Price wise buying in bulk is a no brainer- the 7g containers from Waitrose cost £2.66 while the 2x150g containers ordered through Amazon (free delivery) cost £14!

So far I have found it to be a brilliantly addition to macarons- both the shells but more importantly the fillings. Puréed fruit is way too liquid and the consistency you need for shells and filling becomes a mess. I have also added it to sponge cake.

Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to my blog! After a L O N G break from blogging during which Instagram (vannilla)took over my life, I am returning in a more varied format. Yes, I will bake and have been a Thermomix users from the days before it was cult-like. I'll share the best but I will also include that other hobby in my life, photography from my small island and beyond. If you like what you see, I'd love to hear from you! Anne

i'd love to hear from you...
