A love hearts cake. Two layer sponge – see my rose cupcake recipe, sandwiched with SMBC and crumb coat. Cover with fondant and finishing touches with pink modelling chocolate,

Swiss meringue buttercream (SMBC) is my stable and staple! go-to base if I am not using marzipan under fondant icing. Don't be intimidated by reading the process- you do however need a stand mixer.

Finally pink modelling chocolate – see earlier post on modelling chocolate stripes to see how versatile and easy candy melts are.

As for the motto- appropriate for a valentine's day dinner party with old friends
