Overindulgence with royal icing?

By the time I had finished with this plastic cake topper candelabra I felt sleeping beauty should should be fighting her way out of the ivy leaf icing!

I bought this cute candle holders from Lakeland but gave it a personal festive touch with the green leaves and red berries. If you follow my blog you will know I have been in Xmas cake decoration mode for the past week so batches of green, red and white royal icing have been to hand. Many people think the leaves are terrible clever but if you buy a no 69 nozzle you can easily produce this pretty effect.

The cake is a Mich Turner recipe – her heavenly vanilla cake. It is exactly that, filled and covered in Swiss meringue buttercream and fondant.

Thanks for looking in on my blog 🙂
