I is for…..the icing on the cake

As a baking blogger I have most types of icing. In my life I have probably tasted the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to icing. For the challenge and the letter I am linking you up with a post on an icing course I did at Mich Turner’s Little Venice Cake Company LVCC. My daughters bought me this course as a birthday gift and it was so much fun in addition to learning a lot of useful tips when making royal icing. I had always shied away from making royal icing – now I am really happy to make it and work with it. It always has a wow factor and isn’t super sweet.

You can find the link to this post here. Cake icing master class

If it hadn’t been for icing I may have had a hard time coming up with an old post for the letter I.

It would have fallen on my chocolate cake to cake rate american Independence Day which you can find here Independence Chocolate cake

  1. I am one of the few who doesn’t like icing. I do love a nice glaze. Does that count a bit?

Of course! It’s hard to beat a good citrus glaze. Actually ‘naked’cakes are a very popular recent trend and for those of us of an age where anything sweet sits on the waist, they are delicious.
