A-Z challenge – S is for Swedish princess cake…

I have posted about this cake twice. I only did the second post because it had been brought to mind again after an episode of the Great British Bake Off (GBBO) and I decided to make it for a friend’s birthday. It isn’t a difficult cake, you just need to give yourself enough time. It makes a beautiful centrepiece, I’m sure you’ll agree.

The original posts and more photographs can be found here Swedish Princess Cake And here GBBO – European cake week

I hope you approve of my choice of S.

  3. “Princess Tårta” comes out for every birthday celebration here in Sweden! I have never seen it any other colour than green though! Yours look gorgeous!

Peggy Porschen, the London based baker does the pink variation in one of her books. To be honest I had never knowingly come across it until then. Green is the ‘official’ colour, you are right 🙂
